Food & Drink Challenge – the shopping list

tea and toast

Here is my entry for boring blog post of the month….joking aside (sorta), my girlfriend and I have been preparing for the food & drink challenge. Using up the last of the tea bags, finishing the tomato sauce, clearing space in the freezer etc.

I am now like a child in a sweet shop, drooling at the thought of the homemade soups we are going to make etc. Which leads me onto the…*drum roll please*…shopping list. Yes the exciting topic of shopping lists. Strap yourself in, for the rest of the post will be non-stop excitement!

We didn’t want to drift haphazardly into the challenge. We want to cross the start line at full pelt so for us this means looking at what is on our shopping list already. Especially as we plan to not go beyond our existing food budget. Plus there are key items that it’s okay if we can’t pick up one week due to availability, but would be annoying if not available locally a second week etc.

Variety is itself going to play a major part in this challenge and some planning will help. So as we finish up those freezer items that we’ve delayed cooking and say goodbye to the last of the English mustard, I say thank goodness for that.

My taste buds are ready for the change.

  1. Yep, the countdown is ON. You both seem to be very keen of starting the challenge and I am looking forward to walk a long with you two by reading your blog post about the challenge.
I for myself had a hard time thinking wether to join or not. I have decided not to jump in for this time.
I havent got any Food items which I want to quit. I dont drink any alcohol. Eat fresh food only and I am not that much a sweet tooth. Eating meat is on a minimum. I only drink 1 or 2 cups of Coffee a day but not regular. I have to be pretty much in a Coffee mood. So there are weeks without a single cup of Coffee.
I feel very well of the situation I am in now. Feel healthy and have no weight problems.
I wish you and all the people, who start the Challenge with you the best of luck and energy. Great fun in the experience and good results. =)

  2. Hi Linn,

Cheers for dropping by and leaving the reply.

Shame you are not joining in, but the challenge isn’t for everyone. It’s great you feel healthy, so many don’t these days. Including me!

We are keen to start the challenge and it’s only around the corner. I hope you enjoy the food & drink challenge posts over the next few months.

Thank you for the good wishes. 🙂

    Have a great weekend.

    All the best

    Andrew

  3. Hi Tracey,

Blimey! Well done for noticing it was a pumpkin. That was an old photo from last year, but will be buying plenty of them this year.

We have a great fruit and veg stall here on a saturday, so will be visiting it often throughout the challenge.

    Cheers for the good wishes.

    All the best

    Andrew
